Small black spots or fine lines (cobweb-like threads) seen in bright light or against a bright or white surface

• If the spots or lines are occasionally seen, then this may not be a serious problem.

• Failure to examine and get the appropriate treatment could result in visual loss &/or ocular complications.

Flashing lights

• This may be seen for a few seconds in dim light or when there is no light.
  
  
• It may occur for a few minutes and recur after a few days or weeks only.
  
  
• If one sees a shadow or like a ‘dark curtain’ it can possibly lead to loss of sight. The other eye must also be examined to prevent damage.
  
  
• A comprehensive visual examination will help with the appropriate course of treatment.
